Ductless Systems

Ductless air conditioning wall unit.

You may have heard about ductless heating and cooling systems, but do you know about their advantages?

A Flexible Solution

The most common HVAC systems are central air conditioners and heat pumps that use ducts to deliver conditioned air throughout a building.

Ductless systems are more flexible than traditional systems because ductless systems don’t use ductwork. All that’s needed is a small outdoor unit and one or more indoor units, along with access to electricity and a place to mount the units. Ductless systems are the ideal heating and cooling solution for situations where adding ductwork is impractical or too expensive and can be installed in either new or existing construction. The professionally matched combination of an outdoor condenser and indoor air handlers in a ductless mini-split system is efficient and easy to install.

More Affordable

Ductless mini-split systems are the most reliable and the most energy-efficient equipment option in the HVAC industry. You can reduce your energy consumption by as much as 65% with the ductless option. Traditional heating and cooling units can run inefficiently for a number of reasons, costing you money in lost energy. The equipment required for a traditionally ducted system is larger, so naturally, it consumes more power. And conditioned air can be lost through gaps in the ductwork before it ever reaches its intended destination, illustrating another example of lost energy for which you also pay.

Ductless systems are smaller than traditional HVAC systems, which means they use less power. And the temperature-controlled air of a ductless system is delivered directly into a room instead of throughout an entire building. This means that you don’t heat or cool rooms that aren’t occupied. Translation: less power needed, less money spent.

Quiet as a Whisper, Even on the Coldest Days

If you have lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for any length of time you have likely heard the noise of an overworked electric heater, furnace, or even heat pump, either your own or a neighbor’s. The new American Standard/Mitsubishi mini-split systems deliver consistent and efficient heating on the coldest days of the year, even when the outside temperature drops below 0° F. Indoor units operate at near silent operation with levels as low as 19 dB – similar to the sound of tree leaves moving in a light breeze. Outdoor units operate at levels as low as 58 dB(A) – this is similar to the sound level of your refrigerator.

Ductless mini-split systems provide heating and cooling air for the rooms they serve, without the need for any additional noisy fans. The residential line of Mitsubishi Electric ductless mini-split systems run off INVERTER technology, which controls the speed of the compressor. Inverter technology quietly speeds up or down, automatically, and adjusting the speed is what controls the capacity needed for your heating and cooling needs.

Unique Solutions Personalized for You and Your Home

No two homes are alike. Yet conventional heating and cooling systems all apply the same method where the whole home is controlled by one thermostat. Consequently, areas of the home are not equally comfortable, and some rooms can become quite uncomfortable in extremely hot or cold weather conditions.

American Standard/Mitsubishi Ductless mini-split systems offer heating and cooling that let you adjust the comfort settings to meet your individual and unique needs. Each indoor unit operates independently and has its own temperature control, allowing you to fine-tune your comfort while saving money at the same time by cooling and heating only spaces you

use. You will be able to enjoy every room in your home, all year round, with customized comfort regardless of the season!

On-Demand Comfort

Ductless mini-split systems allow you the option of complete remote access and control of your system from anywhere in the world, whether you’re at home, work, or on vacation.

The optional MHK-1 controller installs anywhere within the conditioned space, with simple wall-mounted design. This thermostat has a back-lit display that makes it easy to fine-tune your comfort settings: temperature, fan speed, air flow direction, and more.

RedLINKTM Technology is also available, which enables you to control your system settings over the Internet. An optional Outdoor Sensor allows you to monitor outside temperature and humidity so that you can keep track of the weather and display this information on your thermostat. Remotely monitor and control your ductless mini-split system at any time, in any place with an internet signal, using your computer, phone, or tablet. The app is free to download and requires no monthly fee.

Improved Indoor Air Quality

Did you know the quality of indoor air is typically lower than that of outdoor air? Ductwork collects dust, allergens, bacteria, as well as many other contaminants. Traditional forced air systems blow air directly through these contaminants and consequently throughout your house.

Ductless systems offer multi-stage filtration that greatly reduces this type of air contamination and creates a healthier indoor environment. And All Weather Heating can offer additional products to further improve your IAQ.

Clear Sky Air Purifier

The RGF CLEAR SKY-MS continuous self-cleaning Ion Generator for Ductless HVAC units were developed to produce bi-polar ions in the conditioned space of homes and commercial buildings. This system has separated quad ion emitters for superior bi-polar ionization. The RGF CLEAR SKY reduces particulates, allergens, smoke, bacteria, viruses, and mold spores. This unit is designed to be mounted on the air handler and is installed with a magnetic mount for quick and easy installation. The RGF CLEAR SKY is a good air quality solution for the budget-minded consumer.

Easy to Install

Ducted systems can take several weeks to install. They interrupt daily life in the home and can take up valuable real estate due to their size.

Conversely, ductless systems can be installed in as little as a day, depending on the number of units required. The pipes required for the systems dictate only a three-inch hole which makes them easier to integrate into your home in Issaquah, WA.
