2025 Equipment Updates

Beat the Price Increase: Update Your HVAC System Now

The next generation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment is almost here! Act now for the best selection and to avoid paying up to 30% more for your new HVAC comfort system.

What is changing?

The driving force behind the HVAC equipment redesign is refrigerant. Refrigerant is the component that enables your air conditioner or heat pump to transfer heat into the home and removes the heat from the home. Beginning on January 1, 2025, equipment using the current industry-standard refrigerant can no longer be manufactured. Any equipment produced before that deadline must be installed by January 1, 2026.This refrigerant change is federally mandated as part of a 2020 Act by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) designed to reduce the production and consumption of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 2036. Specifically, R-410A, which is the current standard refrigerant in HVAC systems, will be phased out and R-454B and R-32 refrigerants, which are classified as low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants, will be phased in.

Why should I buy an R-410A system now?

  • Save money. The newly designed systems will cost up to 30% more than current systems. In addition, you can avoid costly and potentially invasive retrofitting of components such as copper pipe and line sets.
  • Choose from a wide selection. As the manufacturing of current equipment slows and ultimately stops, inventory will become limited. There may also be delays and shortages in the distribution of new equipment, refrigerants, and parts during this transition.
  • Avoid surprises. The features and home comfort benefits of current and new equipment will be comparable. Current equipment still provides outstanding performance, high efficiency, low environmental impact, and a proven track record of reliability.
  • Take advantage of rebates and incentives. Depending on the equipment, you may be eligible to receive factory incentives, energy rebates, and federal tax credits that are available during the refrigerant transition.
